Green Week at NLCS Jeju

Green Team’s ground-breaking presentation during last Wednesday’s whole school assembly was a huge success, (the movie that we made had a strong message. Click here to see it), and many students were inspired to conserve energy around the school and earn ‘green slips’ from Mr. Parkes. Participating in the campaign motivated us to become environmentally aware and actively find ways to conserve electricity.

In true NLCS Jeju spirit, people made an effort to save electricity by using the stairs instead of elevators, shutting down computers after they finish using them, turning off the lights in empty rooms and adjusting air conditioning temperatures to an appropriate level - neither too high nor too low. Green Stewards in each House took on a supportive role for this.

Green Week may be over but this does not mean that our sense of environmental awareness should be diminished. We should continue to remember the valuable lesson last year’s possible blackout told us and engage ourselves in ‘green’ action for a brighter future.
