From Year 5 onwards, pupils will have the opportunity to board. We appreciate that, particularly for our younger students, it can be a daunting experience living away from home and NLCS Jeju will have a strong pastoral care and support system. The boarding houses will give pupils a secure family environment to call home during their time at school, and will create a community that fosters self-confidence and friendships that last for life. The Junior houses are positioned on campus with easy access to all the school's facilities. Close by is the Medical Centre which houses the school's nurse (on call 24 hours a day), doctor and counsellor
There will be an English-speaking atmosphere within all the houses, which will be promoted by resident staff such as English-speaking Gap-year students and Housemasters. There will also be a dedicated Matron in each house to provide domestic care and a consistent point of contact during the day. The staff and students within the houses will form a close-knit family, resulting in a strong sense that NLCS Jeju represents a home from home.

| Architect's plan of a Junior boarding house bedroom |
In the Junior School, pupils will stay in two houses (one for boys and one for girls) which are paired and are joined by a shared common room and garden. Bedrooms are for four in order to create a sociable, fun and welcoming environment. All the rooms have en-suite facilities and the houses offer shared and private study areas, social common and games rooms, music practice rooms, kitchens and gardens. The three daily meals will be eaten in the main Dining Room and students will have an impressive choice of Western and Korean food.
Inter-house sports fixtures and other activities such as house plays and competitions will be important aspects of the enrichment of school life. It is felt to be a positive and important aspect of boarding that the pupils progress from their junior house to their boys' or girls' house and then to the Sixth Form lodges. NLCS Jeju pupils will increasingly achieve greater independence and responsibility whilst remaining involved in the overall school community.
