Welcome to the Junior School.
Our Junior School offers an exceptional start to a child’s education. The academically ambitious curriculum and varied co-curricular activities give students the foundation blocks to prepare them for future study, all within a safe, welcoming and friendly environment.
Our Junior School students are internationally minded, resilient, respectful, independent and thoughtful learners as well as creative and critical thinkers.
We are looking forward to meeting you and your child and hopefully welcoming you to the NLCS Jeju family.
Jeremy Freeman
Vice Principal - Head of Junior School
Our Junior School is for boys and girls aged 4 - 11 (Reception to Year 6) and students follow a curriculum based on that of NLCS UK and all classes are taught in English.
Students are taught in our First School. A bright, colourful and interactive learning environment - each student has a class teacher and Learning Support Assistants.
Students are taught in our Lower School. A smaller version of our Senior School, preparing them for the next stage in their education.
In Year 5 and 6 our students are taught by subject specialists for all subjects, enabling them to have a greater understanding and depth of subject knowledge.
Many of our students progress seamlessly through to our Senior School.
All our students belong to a House - as they do in Senior School. Being part of a House team gives our students a sense of identity and through House activities and competitions allows them to make friends, learn new skills, support one another and be leaders to younger children in their House. Read more about our House system here.
Our Junior School is a happy and caring community where every child matters. Whether that is supporting their academic development or their wellbeing in general, there is a team of experts on hand to ensure that no child is left behind. Visit our Pastoral pages here for more information.
Our Beyond the Curriculum programme takes students out of the classroom - offering over 150 different activities to choose from, our students have the opportunity to learn new skills, discover new hobbies and interests and become the type of well rounded individual that top universities are seeking.
