남학생Welcome to Aewol
Aewol is one of the male Senior Boarding Homes at NLCS Jeju, providing a welcoming and supportive home for students from Year 7 to Year 11.
Named after Aewol on the beautiful north-west coast of Jeju, our boarding house is a community in which students are encouraged to grow academically, socially and personally. We aim to provide an environment where every student feels valued, supported and confident to take an active role in both their own development and the life of the House.
At the heart of Aewol are three values which reflect the qualities we want our students to develop:
- Open-mindedness, Agency and Communication
애월 기숙학생은
- Think with an Open Mind – We are curious, respectful and willing to consider different perspectives, cultures and ideas. We value the diversity of our community and recognise that we can learn from one another.
- Develop Agency – We take ownership of our choices, learning and personal development. We encourage students to be independent, proactive and willing to take responsibility, while having the confidence to seek support when they need it.
- Communicate with Purpose – We express ourselves clearly, confidently and respectfully. We listen to others, build positive relationships and understand that effective communication is at the heart of a strong community.
These values shape everyday life in Aewol. Through living, learning and spending time together, students have opportunities to develop independence, build lasting friendships, take on responsibilities and contribute positively to the House and wider school community.
Aewol is led by Sebastien Crebier, supported by Jin Woo Lee and Steve Mann, our Ms Lee and Sea Kwon Lee, Sean Killeen and Ridho Dirgantara. Together, the Aewol boarding team works to create a safe, supportive and enjoyable environment in which every student can thrive.
Above all, we want Aewol to be more than simply a place where students live. We want it to be a community in which students feel a genuine sense of belonging, are encouraged to challenge themselves and leave us as confident, independent young people ready to contribute positively to the world around them.

여학생Welcome to Iho
Iho is one of two female Senior Boarding Homes and is also home to our Year 5 and 6 Junior boarders, alongside students from Year 7 to Year 11.
Named after Iho Beach in Jeju, our philosophy and ethos are inspired by the two famous Iho Beach lighthouses. A beautiful hand-painted mural of one of the lighthouses, a Jeju-inspired wall mural covering the Atrium walls and floor signage extending beautifully throughout the home, all created by our students, welcome visitors to the home.
At the heart of Iho are the four NLCS Jeju PEAK Values: Perseverance, Empathy, Agency and Knowledge. These values shape how we live together, encouraging our girls to be resilient, kind, independent, curious and to make the most of every opportunity.
Iho is a warm, inclusive and nurturing community where we love to have fun together. Our active student voice works closely with staff to organise fantastic events and memorable experiences throughout the year. Everyone has a voice and everyone has a part to play.
Our boarders are incredibly talented individuals and the house is often humming with singing, rehearsals, dance, art, baking and the scratching of brains as they reflect on the day’s learning and plan for the future. We encourage our girls to squeeze every drop out of life, try new things, develop their talents and make lasting friendships.
Ms Sarah Randerson is our Boarding Mistress, supported by Assistant Boarding Mistresses Ms Kim and Ms Cai. Our Graduate Assistants, including Miss Sara A, Miss Sara H, Miss Audrey and Miss Charlotte, also support both the academic and pastoral life of the home. Together, we create a safe, happy and supportive environment where every girl feels valued, can be herself and has the confidence to grow and flourish.

식스폼(12-13학년) 여학생Welcome to Halla East
Halla East is our Sixth Form Boarding Home, providing a welcoming and supportive community for students in Years 12 and 13.
Named after Halla Mountain in Jeju, the philosophy and the ethos of Halla East are shaped by four key values:
- Communication (커뮤니케이션)
- Responsibility
- Character
- Open-mindedness
These values reflect the wider ethos of NLCS Jeju and align closely with the IB Learner Profile. We encourage our students to communicate thoughtfully, take ownership of their choices, act with integrity and remain open to new ideas, experiences and perspectives.
Sixth Form is an important period of increasing independence, and life in Halla East provides students with opportunities to develop the confidence and life skills needed for university and beyond. Alongside their academic ambitions, we aim to create a home where students feel safe, supported and comfortable being themselves.
Halla East students form a close community and are encouraged to support one another both academically and personally. Through shared routines, activities and everyday boarding life, we aim to create a genuine home away from home where students can build strong friendships, develop independence and make the most of their final years at NLCS Jeju.
Halla East is led by Ms Lindsay Lee, Boarding Mistress and teacher of IBDP Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS), supported by Assistant Boarding Mistresses Ms Sunghyun Shin (Geography and IBDP ESS) and Ms Evangeline Grant (English). Our resident Graduate Assistants, Ms Andrea Kim (Art) and Ms Meray Ramiz (PE), complete the Halla East boarding team.
