The warm and welcoming environment allows students to excel in their studies and leisure pursuits all within the confines of our beautiful campus with lots of open green space. Named after beautiful areas and beaches of Jeju, each Home is unique and has its own strong identity.

Hyeopjae is a one of three male Senior Boarding Homes which provides a home to our Year 5 and 6 Junior boarders along with boarders who are from Year 7 to Year 11.
“A Home Away from Home – Growing Stronger Together”
Named after Hyeopjae Beach in Jeju, the philosophy and ethos of the home has been shaped by:
- Being good friends
- Developing good independent study habits
- Being organised and independent
Hyeopjae boys are:
- Empathetic, open minded, kind and caring
- Motivated, determined and resilient
- Confident, good communicators, and leaders
Mr. Sebastien Crebier is the Hyeopjae Boarding Master (BM) and is ably supported by two Assistant Boarding Masters (ABMs) Mr. Andrew Cronin and Mr. Yong-Jun Chun. The boys in Hyeopjae are also supported by a non-resident Korean Matron and three resident Graduate Assistants, Mr. Andrew Han, Mr. Dominic Ng, and Mr. Charlie Cooney.

Aewol is a one of three male Senior Boarding Homes which provides accommodation to some of our Year 7 to Year 11 boarders.
Named after Aewol Beach in Jeju, the philosophy and ethos of the home has been shaped to empower our students to achieve their full potential, both academically and socially – learning to become independent responsible members of local, national and global communities.
Aewol boys have been looking at their values and reflected these in the house motto:

Mr. James Tuffs is the Aewol Boarding Master (BM) and is ably supported by two Assistant Boarding Masters (ABMs); Mr. Dylan Löser and Mr. Jin-Woo Lee. The boys in Aewol are also supported by a non-resident Korean Matron and three resident Graduate Assistants; Mr. Koray Gumus, Mr. Oscar Matsell and Mr. Luke Lamkin.

Yongduam is a one of three male Senior Boarding Homes which provides a home to some of our boarders who are from Year 7 to Year 11.
Named after Yongduam Rock in Jeju City, the philosophy and ethos of the home has been shaped around the statement ‘be positive and keep smiling, stay kind and be humble, work hard and dream big’, personality traits that we expect all of our boys to demonstrate.
Yongduam boys are:

Mr. Thomas Perry is the Yongduam Boarding Master (BM) and is ably supported by two Assistant Boarding Masters (ABMs) Mr. Samuel Wilson and Mr. Anthony Quinn. The boys in Yongduam are also supported by a non-resident Korean Matron and three resident Graduate Assistants, Mr. Yushi Ashford, Mr. Jacob Sarao, and Mr. Harry Dean.
Pyoseon

Pyoseon is a one of two female Senior Boarding Homes which provide a home to our Year 7 to 11 boarders, the energy in the boarding home reflects the motto of Unity, Commitment, Achievement.
Named after Pyoseon Beach in Jeju, the philosophy and ethos of the home has been shaped by the students themselves. This year the students have chosen their academic values to be critical thinking, motivation and determination to succeed, and their personal values of empathy, open-mindedness and kindness.
Mrs. Emily Spivey is the Pyoseon Boarding Mistress (BM) and is ably supported by two Assistant Boarding Mistresses (ABMs) Ms. Sunghyun Shin and Mrs. Esther Yates. The girls in Pyoseon are also supported by a non-resident Korean Matron and three resident Graduate Assistants, Ms. Joanna Buhler, Ms. Imogen Elliott, and Ms. Emma Yee.
Iho

Iho is a one of two female Senior Boarding Homes which also provides a home to our Year 5 and 6 Junior boarders along with their boarders who are from Year 7 to Year 11.
Named after Iho Beach in Jeju, the philosophy and ethos of the home has been shaped by the two famous Iho beach lighthouses. A beautiful hand painted mural of one of the lighthouses, created by the students, welcomes all visitors to the home.
Iho girls are kind and generous, they display strength and resilience with warmth and humility.
- Integrity = a lighthouse is a Reference point/ navigation (values, guiding light, morals)
- Hope = Protection and guidance. Has to be open minded. Doesn’t judge, accepts every day / boat / weather condition as it comes.
- Open Minded = Lighthouse has to cope with all sorts of conditions, sea water, weather, hot/cold. Ultimately we want Iho girls to leave strong and resilient
Ms. Claire Washington is the Iho Boarding Mistress (BM) and is ably supported by two Assistant Boarding Mistresses (ABMs) Ms. Mary Zhang and Ms. Sarah Heydinger. Halla East is a our female Sixth Form Boarding Home which provides a home to our boarders who are in Year 12 and Year 13.
Named after Halla Mountain in Jeju, the philosophy and ethos of the home has been shaped by our three key values:

- Kindness
Inline with the IB philosophy, we aim to equip our girls not only to be actively contributing global citizens but also leaders in empowering others. We actively support them to become the best version of themselves in whatever global setting they find themselves in, embodying the school motto “Start here, go anywhere”.
Halla East girls are resilient, compassionate and self-aware. Excellent communicators, confident in their own abilities with a strong desire to achieve and lead a purposeful life.
Ms. Shayna Coughlan is the Halla East Boarding Mistress (BM) and is ably supported by one Assistant Boarding Mistress (ABM) Ms. Julia Smith. The girls in Halla East are also supported by a non-resident Korean Matron, Ms Goh and currently and three resident Graduate Assistants, Ms. Kendall Grady, Ms. Taeyeon Kang and Ms. Rachel Faulkner.

Halla North is a our male Sixth Form Boarding Home which provides a home to our boarders who are in Year 12 and Year 13.
Named after Halla Mountain in Jeju, the philosophy and ethos of the home has been shaped by the core values of our home:

Halla North boys are resilient with a strong sense of fairness and integrity. They have the confidence to speak up for themselves and those around them and strive to be the best version of themselves. We hope to inspire the young men in our care to be future leaders who will drive positive change.
Mr. Scott Davies is the Halla North Boarding Master (BM) and is ably supported by two Assistant Boarding Masters (ABMs) Mr. Martyn Fernandes and Mr. Sangduk Park. The boys in Halla North are also supported by a non-resident Korean Matron and three resident Graduate Assistants, Mr. Ewan Thompson, Mr. Frederick Bate, and Mr. Andy Jang.
Each Home is slightly different and reflects the hobbies and interests of the students and the unique Home identity.

Additional academic support is available to all boarding students in the comfort of their boarding Home. A bespoke programme of activities are arranged and led by our very own teachers and are tailored to the needs of subject areas, year groups and the academic calendar.
