PSD

The PSD programme aims to help students develop their personal attitudes, lifelong social skills, and knowledge about personal and social issues. It focuses on fostering healthy relationships, understanding risks, practising acceptance, becoming globally-minded citizens, and developing wellbeing. Our teaching methods encourage critical thinking, communication skills, and personal reflection, helping students to apply their learning to real-life situations.

The curriculum is divided into these themes:

  • Relationships
  • Risk
  • Acceptance
  • Global Citizenship
  • 坚韧
  • 身心健康

Each theme explores key questions related to living well with others, taking risks, accepting oneself and others, understanding one’s place in the world, the importance of resilience, and of wellbeing.

The principles that underpin our approach include:

  • starting from students’ existing knowledge
  • adopting a spiral learning approach
  • integrating PSD with other school activities, such as their tutor programme.
  • using diverse teaching styles
  • encouraging reflection and decision-making
  • maintaining a positive focus towards challenging topics
  • providing relevant and culturally sensitive information
  • creating a safe learning environment
  • embedding PSD within the school’s overall efforts to support students’ pastoral needs.

Overall, the PSD program aims to support students’ personal and social development by fostering critical thinking, communication skills, resilience, and wellbeing within a safe and supportive learning environment.
